Miss Aleksandra Treder - Behaviour Support Manager
Miss Treder graduated from the University of Northampton with BA Hons in Social work. She is a registered social worker, and has primarily worked with children in different settings throughout her career. Before starting her role at Wixams Academy, Miss Treder supported children with SEN and behavioural disorders in a special education school. Miss Treder was born in Poland, therefore speaks fluently in both Polish and English.
In her spare time, Miss Treder enjoys visiting art galleries and learning about different cultures through travel.

With a BA in English Studies and a Master's in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, Miss Campos brings a wealth of international experience to both language teaching and classroom management. Having worked as a Spanish language assistant, an English and Spanish teacher at a football club in Spain, and an English teacher at a language school in Cambridge, Miss Campos is passionate about creating engaging and dynamic learning environments. In addition to teaching Spanish and French, Miss Campos also serves as a Cover Supervisor, ensuring continuity and a positive learning experience across subjects. Miss Campos is committed to supporting students’ academic and personal growth, while fostering a love of languages in the classroom.

Originally from Romania, Mrs Gorea has a son and a daughter and enjoys travelling, baking and spending time with her family and friends

Mrs Allen has worked within a school setting for 9 years, working in the office and as a science technician. She has been a Site Agent at Wixams Academy for 3 years and enjoys this varied role as every day is different!
Mrs Allen has 2 boys and 2 cats! She loves to travel, cook, cut hair, and oil paint in her spare time.

Ms. Chick has been working within the educational field for over 33 years, starting as a parent helper. From this she applied to become part of a support team. She returned to studying and self- funded a number of courses, to enhance her knowledge, skills and qualifications. Previously she was an assistant head of house and was promoted to head of house for a vocational route school.
Ms. Chick is a Wixams Academy founder and has enjoyed the journey that the school has travelled through since 2017. She supports the after-school homework club and previously ran a British Sign Language club and assisted with a craft club. She is a mother to three grown up children and has five grandchildren.

Ms Eadon graduated with a BA in Politics from Queen Mary & Westfield University in 1999.
She had worked in schools for over twenty years in and around bringing up my four children. Her first position was in an Infant School for Work Experience Week in 1994. In her spare time she plays golf and her family are Season Ticket holders for Luton Town Football Club. She joined Wixams Academy as an Exams Invigilator in May 2022, and joined permanently as a Learning Support Assistant in January 2023.

Mrs Katie Bastians - Careers Advisors
Mrs Bastians graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with an English degree and initially embarked on a career in teaching. After 18 months work experience within the SEN team at a local secondary school, Mrs Bastians realised guidance was her passion. Mrs Bastians has been working in the world of guidance and careers counselling for 17 years taking on many roles such as SEN Specialist Adviser, Senior Adviser for Herts County Council, and Project Manager for a private training and education company. Mrs Bastians has worked across many settings including University, MoJ (Project Manager), Primary Schools and SEN schools. Mrs Bastians went freelance in 2022 and in addition to her work at Wixams, she also works across schools within the BILT Trust supporting learners at the local pupil referral unit and students with severe and profound learning difficulties/disabilities at St. Johns School. Mrs Bastians has an NVQ level 4 qualification in Guidance, a Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and has recently completed Careers Leadership Training with the University of Derby.

Mrs Kelly Watts - Office Assistant
Mrs Watts trained and qualified to level 3 hairdressing but decided a salon setting was not for her. She then began working as a receptionist in a doctor surgery which was very interesting and learnt a lot working within the NHS sector working on medical referrals in particular. After taking some time away from work to raise her two children, she became an Office Assistant at Wixams Academy just over 5 years ago – she really enjoys the busy pace of the school office, talking to the students and getting to know them and helping where and when she can.
In her time away from working Mrs Watts enjoys spending time with her husband and children – they enjoy bike rides and roller blading! She also loves spending time with her friends, eating out and enjoys the occasional bingo night!

Mrs. Lucy Bonforte - SENDCO
Mrs. Bonforte holds a BA (Hons) degree in Drama and Performance Studies from Worcester University, where she developed a passion for using the performing arts as a tool for communication and expression. She later pursued an MA in Special Educational Needs at Bedfordshire University, deepening her understanding of inclusive education and tailored learning strategies. Throughout her career, Mrs. Bonforte has worked in various educational settings, integrating drama into the curriculum to support students with diverse needs. Her innovative approach has helped create engaging and accessible learning environments, fostering creativity and confidence in her students.
Mrs. Bonforte is a dedicated Special Needs Coordinator with a passion for fostering inclusive learning environments. In her role, she collaborates closely with teachers, parents and specialists to create individualised education plans that empower students to reach their full potential. Away from teaching, Lucia has a strong interest in singing and all things Italian, due to her heritage.
Mrs Lucy Hussain - Cover Supervisor
Mrs Hussain holds a BSc in Business Management and brings a wealth of organisational skills and a strong work ethic to her role as a Cover Supervisor. In her role, Mrs Hussain ensures that students remain focused and productive during lessons in the absence of their regular teachers. Mrs Hussain is committed to helping students thrive, ensuring that they stay engaged and on track with their learning.
Mrs Mariella Iovinelli - Cover Manager
Mrs. Iovinelli has a wealth of experience in both education and recruitment, having worked in these fields for over twenty years. Currently, she serves as a Cover Manager, where she likely oversees temporary staffing and ensures continuity in teaching. Her deep passion for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in education reflects her dedication to providing inclusive and supportive learning environments.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Mrs. Iovinelli is a fully qualified phlebotomist, showcasing her diverse skill set and commitment to helping others.
Outside of work, she is an enthusiastic netballer, both playing and managing a team. Her involvement extends to coaching and supporting her school’s netball team, further emphasising her leadership abilities and her commitment to nurturing young talent in sports.

Miss Perkins graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a BA in Psychology and Criminal Behaviour followed by a MSC in Applied Psychology. Whilst working in the health care sector Miss Perkins obtained a Level 5 Health and Social care Diploma in Leadership in adults and children's services. Miss Perkins has spent a number of years working with children from different services, whilst promoting and Implementing safeguarding policies and procedures within her roles. Miss Perkins has a strong interest in research in Psychology and continues to pursue her own research within the field in her spare time.

Mrs Rosa Marotta - Personal Assistant to the Headteacher
Mrs Marotta was born in Italy and moved to Peterborough with her parents and siblings when she was 3 years old.
Since moving to Bedford and having a family of her own, Mrs Marotta has worked in the education sector for over 20 years. She has worn many hats along the way including teaching assistant, Office administrator, Office manager and now in her current position of PA to Headteacher and SLT team.
Mrs Marotta enjoys keeping busy but when she does have some free time, you will find her reading novels, taking long walks in the countryside, or baking for her family.
Miss Sarah Jakins: MD Supervisor/LSA
After leaving College, Mrs Jakins worked as a Financial Secretary at Whitbread Inns before taking a career break to raise her two children. Following the SEN diagnosis of her youngest child, she re-trained as a Teaching Assistant and spent eight years working in Primary Schools, before arriving at Wixams Academy. She still enjoys Maths especially and supporting young adults on this important part of their academic journey. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her adult children, travel by train and has just begun to learn German.
Ms Sharon Kavanaugh - Learning Support Assistant
Ms Kavanaugh graduated from the University of Bedfordshire in 2004 with a Diploma in Nursing. She began her career working as an A&E nurse, a community nurse, and a Custody Nurse with both Bedfordshire Police and the Metropolitan Police. Her time working within the Criminal Justice System inspired her to pursue further education, and in 2010, she earned a BA(Hons) in Criminology from the University of Bedfordshire.
After continuing to work as a nurse in various settings, Ms Kavanaugh decided to transition into social work, graduating with an MSc in Social Work (Commendation) in 2017. Her social work career has included roles in Hospital Discharge services (Luton & Bedford) and in Learning Disability care.
In more recent years, Ms Kavanaugh has worked as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in both primary and secondary schools, where she has found great fulfilment in supporting students and witnessing their growth and development.

Miss White has worked in school administration since 2017. She has enjoyed a varied career, from being a telecommunications engineer, to owning and running a coffee shop.
In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, reading and Pilates.
