Wixams Academy celebrates GCSE results

News Wixams Academy celebrates GCSE results

Wixams Academy students are celebrating a really pleasing and strong set of GCSE results. Despite the challenging backdrop of the last few years, students have done extremely well and should be incredibly proud of their achievements.

Alongside their exam success, this group of students have also given so much in other areas of school life, including engaging in competitive sport, music, drama, Duke of Edinburgh, mentoring and volunteering.

We are proud of every students’ achievements. We congratulate some of those celebrating today here:

  • Joseph Watson, Ramone Edmonds, Ahmad Shah, are just some of our students who surpassed their targets in EVERY subject
  • Caitlin Hindness with nine Grade 9s, including Further Maths
  • Ryan Pay-An with ten Grade 9s and 8s
  • Ella Parisi with ten Grade 9s and 8s
  • Finlay Auger with Grade 9s and 8s
  • Nylah Bardell with Grade 9s and 8s

Principal, Paul Spyropoulos, said:

“These results are the culmination of five years of hard work and I am immensely proud of the character and resilience shown by each and every student. Whilst nationally exam grading has got tougher this year, our results are almost identical to last year with stronger achievement in English and stronger achievement, and far more students, taking the EBacc range of subjects (Sciences, Geography, History and Computing). This reflects the effort our students have put in and the continued strengthening of the school.

I look forward to welcoming new and existing students to our sixth form in September, where they will continue to thrive and be valued senior members of the Wixams community.

Sincere thanks also go to parents for their unwavering support and our dedicated support and teaching teams who helped to ensure this cohort flourished during their time at Wixams.”

Hywel Jones, Chief Executive, said:

“Congratulations to all our students, many of whom have achieved some outstanding grades. We are so proud of the achievements of all our Wixams Academy students. It’s a testament to the hard work of the students, the expert support from teachers and the support of all families in the school community. The next few years are going to be an exciting phase in the development of the school as we increase the size of the school with the building of new state-of-the-art facilities, and as we continue to grow our sixth form.
